Have you ever made a mistake? Have you ever inadvertently said something or done something in error? Have you ever blundered or botched-up anything at all...but you did it without malice or intent...yet unfortunately, it hurt somebody else? The answer to all these questions is probably...yes. So then let's stop skewering television personality Steve Harvey like a shish-kebab over hot coals.

Harvey - mortified by his blooper - apologized with great sincerity...first on-the-air by articulating, "I will take responsibility for this. It was my mistake." And then, in a tweet following the broadcast. Harvey wrote on Twitter..."This was a terribly honest, human mistake...and I am so regretful." He also tearfully asked for forgiveness on his talk show.
What more does anybody want from the charming and charismatic Steve Harvey? He made an "honest, human mistake"...admitted his fault...and has said he was sorry...over and over again. So then why has he been the butt of jokes and criticism - for nearly a month - from people all over the Internet and elsewhere on social media? Why have other celebrities continued to mock him for his primetime flub?

And that's The Controversy for today.
I'm Gary B. Duglin.

As stated in my commentary above...and as Steve Harvey apologized...he made an "honest, human mistake." Your words are baseless, senseless and insensitive. And Hillary Clinton has nothing to do with this particular column. However...I believe that Secretary Clinton would forgive Steve's accidental error. With such a crass remark by you...it's immature that you hide behind the name "Anonymous." GBD
ReplyDeletenot talking about his mistake. talking about how he is a bum who hates women and gays long before his "mistake". you should do some research on who you defend.
DeleteYou're reading too many supermarket scandal-sheet newspapers. Besides...my defense of him has nothing to do with Steve Harvey's politics or beliefs. If you're a regular reader of The Controversy over the last three years or so, you know I support women, I support gays, and there's not a prejudiced bone in my body. That being said, I have not read any proof to think that your statement above about Steve Harvey has any truth to it. My commentary was purely about a human being's "honest mistake" and that he doesn't deserve the grief he has been getting all across the country. GBD
